Description: “Beatrice Loved Bees” is dressed in a sun hat & sundress inspired by the yellow & black striped bees. Since she loves honey, she has an old-fashioned bee hive and holds a honey dipper. Several whimsical bees surround her. Can you find them?

About the Artist: Theresa Rowe Obert looks forward to the return of the bears in Cairo. She grew up in Greene County, graduated from Windham-Ashland-Jewett Central School, Ladycliff College and Fordham University holding a B.S. in Art and M.S. in Education. After teaching elementary art and academic subjects for a number of years, she was a freelance artist for publishing companies, taught adult ed. classes and worked with senior citizens. Although she now resides in Connecticut, she has been participating in public art projects in the The Hudson Valley for several years. She painted cats for Catskill, ducks for Greenville, trains engines for Ravena-Coeymans, owls for Coxsackie, Rip VanWinkle statues on the Mountaintop, plus various pieces for the Saugerties, and, of course bears. In 2011, Theresa exhibited “Twinkle Bear” and “Baby Bear” as well as “Super Bear” who makes an appearance on Main Street each summer. “Beatrice Loves Bees” is among her proposals for 2018.
