Description: Seamus O’Bear is a collaboration between his patrons, the Gallaghgers and the artist. He is a collection of iconic Irish scenery and familiar Irish symbols.

This bear was a collaboration between me and the Gallagher’ family, the bear’s sponsor. I tried to think of iconic Irish scenes, Blarney castle, stone cottage, pony cart, sheep and heather, Beleek China, as suggestions. They added personal touches, blue eyes, claddough, harp, a lighter color bear.

About the Artist: I’ve lived in the Greene County area all my life. I’m a retired Head Start teacher. I live with my husband Hans and our Newfoundland, Misha, in Coxsackie, NY. I recently retired from a position as a preschool teacher. I have two adult daughters and four grandchildren. I enjoy painting, volunteering as a library board member and event helper for the Greene County Historical Society. We have traveled extensively throughout Europe and the United States. I am always ready and looking forward to the next adventure. I spend my time with family traveling, teaching art, and loving life.
